Dr Cynthia Chan

Dr. Cynthia Chan graduated with Cum Laude and Clinic Honours from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 1997. In addition to completing a specialized ICPA course for adjusting infants, children and pregnant women, Dr. Chan is also certified in the Webster Technique for breech presentation. Dr. Chan is one of only four Toronto chiropractors with Advanced Proficiency certification in Activator Methods Chiropractic Technique (a low-force adjusting instrument). Dr. Chan has also studied acupuncture in Sri Lanka (1995), Beijing (2000) and several courses in Toronto. In addition to chiropractic adjustments and acupuncture, Dr. Chan prescribes foot orthotics to regulate foot mechanics and normalize gait patterns. In 2018 she will complete a life-coaching certificate with the Centre for Applied Neuroscience.

Dr. Chan believes that chiropractic care is integral in overcoming injury, achieving optimal physical performance and sustaining wellness. She first experienced the healing effects of chiropractic and acupuncture at the age of 16. After receiving two weeks of treatment post ankle sprain, she was able to successfully dance in a scheduled performance. Dr. Chan’s deep appreciation for the human body’s form and function has its roots in her past training in ballet/modern dance, 10km running, tennis and now through her current physical activities: hi-intensity interval training, Ashtanga yoga, beach volleyball, cycling to the clinic (weather permitting!), and playing baseball with her son Desmond.

Dr. Chan’s personal health regimen includes chiropractic adjustments on a weekly basis, acupuncture to boost the immune system, massage therapy to reduce repetitive strain and meditation.
